Spun Gold TV has confirmed award-winning producer/director Jane Treays as a major appointment within its programme-making team.
Treays, the creative force behind the BBC TWO hit series Inside Claridge’s, is widely acclaimed as one of the leading documentary makers in British television of the past 25 years. Her award-winning insights span the full range of contemporary lives – from people without a voice in society to windows into the world of the rich and famous – including Extraordinary Families (Channel 4) Mum, Heroin and Me (Channel 4), The Man with the Seven Second Memory (ITV1) and Inside Claridge’s, which achieved BBC TWO’s highest factual documentary ratings since 2006.

Jane Treays has been producing and directing documentaries for over 25 years. Her award-winning films also include Painted Babies, What Sort of Gentleman are you After?, Tom Daley: The Diver and His Dad, The Virgin Daughters, and The Smallest People in the World. Jane was also commissioned to make unique access films which followed Status Quo and the Rolling Stones on tour, Status Quo: Rock On…And On and Bridges to Babylon. Last year, Treays also worked with Spun Gold on Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope, the Prince’s exclusive first interview following the birth of baby George, a co-production with CNN and broadcast on ITV1 in the UK. Treays was recently voted the UK’s No 1 female director by Broadcast magazine.
