Leading UK independent production company, Spun Gold TV, has appointed Tim Hammond to the newly created role of Commercial Director. Tim joins Spun Gold from GroupM Entertainment where he was Commercial Director. The hire is a significant coup for Spun Gold as the production company looks to diversify its offering.

Tim brings a huge amount of expertise and a depth of knowledge gained from years of success in the industry. Tim joins the Spun Gold management team to assist in assuring the day to day commercial success of the business; he will play a leading role in the next phase of the company’s growth through seeking out new investment opportunities. He is also charged with further developing Spun Gold’s links with brands and driving opportunities in the digital sector.
Tim’s career in television spans over twenty years, during which time he has held senior positions at major UK media companies. From Head of Production at ITV Carlton, Tim went on to become Director of Operations at independent distribution business Target Entertainment. Tim’s career then took him to Gallowgate, Ant and Dec’s indie, as Commercial Director and then Managing Director; during his time at Gallowgate, Tim led the commercial side of the business and helped drive the success of formats such as Pokerface and Push The Button. Most recently, Tim was Commercial Director at GroupM Entertainment where he was part of the senior team steering the content financing and co-production business through a period of considerable growth and change.
