50 Shades of Green with Alan Titchmarsh

FORMAT: 1 x 60′

To celebrate fifty years spent in gardens around the world, Alan Titchmarsh is counting down his personal “Fifty Shades of Green”.

This personally curated list will see Alan in some of Britain’s most stunning locations, with friends and experts who share his passions.
He visits his favourite veg plot to garden and cooks with Mary Berry, takes us inside royal gardens, takes a tour of Griff Rhys Jones epic garden, reveals rare plants in spectacular glass houses and thousand-year-old oak trees, and strokes the hallowed turf on Wimbledon Center Court.
Full of unexpected and surprising moments including exclusive access to gardens rarely seen by the public, Alan’s whistle stop tour takes him to the National Gallery to reveal how great masterpieces have inspired him, up on the roof at Fortnum and Masons to uncover a secret wildlife garden and through the doors of the Queen’s perfumer to see if one of Britain’s best scented gardens can be captured in a bottle.
Along the way we see the most expensive rose collection ever created, stunning seasonal displays, and go inside Prince Charles garden at Highgrove and the spectacular water gardens at Chatsworth House.
The countdown is also an emotional personal journey for Alan that includes a visit to the Yorkshire allotment where as a toddler he was first introduced to gardening and a trip to Kew Gardens where he’s reunited with the rare tree he looked after whilst working there. We also go inside Alans’ own personal garden, as yet never been seen on TV, which he has perfected over 17 years.
