On October 12th 2018 ITV1 broadcast live coverage of the wedding of HRH Princess Eugenie of York and Mr Jack Brooksbank, in an extended This Morning special – ‘This Morning at the Royal Wedding’. Presented by Eamonn Holmes OBE and Ruth Langsford live from Windsor, the show captured the atmosphere and arrivals at St George’s Chapel and featured guests, commentators and Royal experts. At 11am This Morning crossed to the exclusive live coverage of the entire hour long ceremony from inside the Chapel, which was produced by Spun Gold TV. It was a star studded occasion. All the senior members of the Royal Family were in attendance, along with a host of celebrities and famous faces including Robbie Williams, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cara Delevinge, Tracey Emin, Demi Moore, Ellie Goulding, James Blunt and Stephen Fry.
It was the first time an independent production company had been awarded the honour of producing the coverage of a royal wedding and was broadcast live worldwide on multiple channel and platforms. The show was a ratings smash for ITV with the live coverage attracting huge viewing figures for This Morning, with an average audience of 3 million viewers.
